You know how they say that the reason they teach math is so that we’re able to learn and apply problem solving in our lives, but if that’s the case why don’t they just throw us a real problem such as ” if you were in this situation what would you do?” kind of thing unlike ” if Jim has 3 apples and Tracy had 5 and you bought 3568 how many do you have?” because no matter how many apples Jim has it’s not going to help you if someone’s dying and in need of surgery or if someone’s trapped in a fire, those apples won’t save their lives.
